Willcom and Sanyo Foods Co., Ltd. have partnered to launch a pioneering new business in Japan utilizing frozen shucked oysters sourced from Vietnam. This initiative leverages Vietnam’s year-round oyster processing capabilities along with the cost advantages provided by zero tariffs under the TPP framework. Vietnamese oysters offer a strong cost advantage due to low production costs and zero import duties. In addition, the project supports the expansion of local production and distribution by creating opportunities for Vietnamese trainees who acquired processing skills in Hiroshima Prefecture to apply their expertise after returning home.
